CNC lathes with a turning diameter of over 800mm are larger lathes with a turning length of 600mm to 12000 mm and are adapted for machining heavy workpieces. For longer turning lengths, workpiece supports called lunettes are used. These machines are usually already equipped with modern CNC systems for interpolated movement of most axes, e.g. Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, etc.
