Für das traditionelle Schneiden von Blechen in der Industrie werden Maschinen mit Plasmaquelle (Kjellberg, Hypertherm oder Formica) oder Autogen bis zu einer Blechlänge von 12.000 mm eingesetzt. Die wichtigsten Hersteller sind VANAD, MGM, Pierce Automation, ESAB, Microstep, Messer. Plasma schneidet Materialien mit einer Dicke von bis zu 30 mm, Autogen kann Stahl mit einer Dicke von über 1000 mm schneiden.
