Single-stand carousels are usually designed for a table clamping plate diameter of 800 to 2000 mm with infinitely variable speed. The dimensions of these machines reach large sizes. Their main parts are frame, crossbar, crossbar clamp, stand, bed, clamping plate. The frame of the lathe is very rigid, which is due to the layout of the lathe. A short cross member is placed on the stand, which is mounted on the guiding edges. The large cross-section stand is usually perfectly rigid in bending and torsion. The turning knives are mounted in a revolver head with usually five clamped knives. The revolver head allows several types of tools to be clamped at once, which increases productivity. Nowadays, automatic tool changing system is very often installed on CNC carousels.
