Lathes of smaller dimensions with turning diameter up to 800 mm. These lathes are for turning external and internal rotary surfaces, for face alignment, thread cutting, shape turning. Nowadays they are used for piece production and simple turning operations. Younger machines are often equipped with electronic metering or some type of advanced positioner for controlled axis movement without interpolation.
