FERMAT's WRF 130 (WF 130) represents the newest technology and concept of Floor-Type, Horizontal Boring Mills that are currently on the global marketplace. Its Powerful Headstock consists of a Movable Slide Ram (Z-axis), and Moveable Live Spindle (W-axis). Slide Ram Deflection is automatically compensated. The machine adopts a Crosswise Movable Column (along the X-axis) and Longitudinally Moving Rotary Table (V-axis/B-axis). The CNC Rotary Table T25, with table sizes 2 000x2 000 mm (78.74x78.74 in.), 2 000x2 500 mm (78.74x98.42 in.), 2 000x3 000 mm (78.74x118.1 in.) or 2 500x3 000 mm (98.42x118.1 in.), can hold heavy workpieces of up to 25 000 kg 55,115 lbs). Even heavier work pieces can be clamped on clamping plates.

FERMAT's WRF 130 (WF 130) is designed with a Cross-Ribbed Column. The machine´s bed (X-axis) features X-braced cast iron construction and heavy duty Schneeberger Roller Linear Guideways. Ram is fabricated from cast steel, and adds rigidity for extended W-axis machining operations. The FEM (Finite Element Method) has been applied to the integrated design of the entire machine. The achieved rigidity allows heavy metal removal.
Fully Integrated Modular Design lets our customers configure their machine to their requirements, including X-travel from 2 400 mm (94.49 in.) to 28 100 mm (1106.3 in.), Y-axis travel, with a variety of practical headstocks, tables and floor plates.
Other features such as Standard Linear Scales, the Heidenhain, Spindle Thermal Monitoring System and an Automatic Slide Ram Deflection System contribute to the high degree of accuracy of the FERMAT WRF 130 in use.
3. Headstocks
Two versions of floor-type boring mills are available, the WF and WRF Series.
- The WF is equipped with a Standard Boring Mill Live Spindle.
- In addition to the live spindle, the WRF Series has a Cast Steel Collinear Ram. The ram adds rigidity for machining operations that require extended W-axis reach on parts that are too large for an ancillary sliding table.
Both versions of headstocks provide an Adjustable Mounting Platform for a variety of attachments, such as CNC Angle Heads, Manual Angle Heads, Support Spindle Sleeves, etc.
Headstock is driven by SIEMENS Servo Drive. The Two-Speed Automatic Gearbox provides enough torque for Heavy Metal Chip Removal and for Powerful High-Speed Drilling. FERMAT Machines are also capable of true, High-Performance Manufacturing due to their Spindle Axial Force of 25,000 N.
